They claim to follow the example of Jesus well, at least in the early 80's they did, even regularly citing 1peter 2:21 were Jesus was a model for them to follow. So, what example did Jesus set respecting the paying of taxes. Mathew 17:27 "...that we do not cause them to stumble...Take that and give it to them for me and you..." And, we find simular action in Pauls letter, '...to all those who are in Rome as God's beloved ones called to be holy ones...Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities....There is therefore compelling reason for You people to be in subjection,...but also on account of [Your] conscience. For that is why You are also paying Taxes...Render to all their dues, to him who [calls] for the tax, the tax;..." Romans 13:1,5,7 So, in conclusion the head ones of these corporation not paying taxes by taking advantage of mans laws gives evidence that they may not be these 'beloved ones' that Paul wrote to nor, could these head ones of these corporation not paying taxes by taking advantage of mans laws be considered followers of the example Jesus set. Finally, would paying taxes be an act of faith? PS: can anybody funnel some cash my way i wann'a get a new mountain bike, one with full suspension?

Life Force in Plants never mentioned by Watchtower

the watchtower for decades has said consistently that both man and animals have the same spirit, or life force.

but what about plants?

i have not seen the watchtower ever mention that plants, which are living things, possess spirit, or a life force.. i wonder why that is so.. --vm44

have you ever met someone and for some unknown reason this person just rubs you the wrong way ,i don't know if it's a vibe they give off or what but something that makes you dislike about that person.

my son who is 21 started to date this girl and there is something about her i so much dislike and i can't help the way i feel.

i have 4 grown kids all have dated and brought there dates home and i was receptive to them all but i cannot to this girl.

What do YOU know about the power of the mind?

i've a little experience in the past with what my mind has done to create a reality for me that would help me resolve or overcome my fear of leaving the cult, but i'm interested in what experiences or actual knowledge any of yall have on the subject.

it seems mind power may well be a resource well worth tapping into.. what are yall's thoughts on this subject?.

Un-bled Meat Was wondering if their would be any practical benefit to informing the medical profession, not to the effect that they had been fooled by the people of the Watchtower because, they are a bright bunch of professional(s) but, that In this particular scripture, 'Only flesh with its soul --it's blood-- You must not eat' In context, Noah and his sons are given warning what they can and cannot eat of their food source. Later on, a more specific requirement is made which may show how they understood Genesis 9:4 to mean, were it reads, 'As for any man of the sons of Israel or some alien resident who is residing as an alien in Your midst who in hunting catches a wild beast or fowl that may be eaten, he must in that case pour its blood out and cover it with dust.' Leviticus 17:13 It's apparent that the animal needed to be bled and then the blood of the animal may have been treated as a waste product were it was poured out on the ground and covered with dust. Simular to that of, '...turn and cover your excrement...' Deuteronomy 23:13 note: In putting the medical profession on notice of the surounding context one should keep in mind that they may have accepted the Watchtowers doctrine of 'no blood transfusion' just as a typical Jehovah's Witnesses does, without the benefit of working it out for themselves to arrive at a...understanding. Leviticus 17:13 Deuteronomy 23:13 Although the meat industry may not be feeding all of its blood or organs back to the herd, they certainly may have other profitable uses for their animal blood which may result in yet more unforseen occurances.
